Question How to get stains out of an art canvas?
I have an art canvas with a small painting in the middle of the other wise blank, cream coloured canvas. There is a red crayon smudge mark on the canvas, how can I get it out without painting over it?

Question Can I make a headboard for my bed using an art canvas and some wallpaper?
I'm getting a new bed, and instead of buying a new headboard to go with it I'm thinking of just purchasing a huge art canvas and then covering it with some wallpaper, and then hanging this canvas above my bed. The only problem I can think of is that it may be hard to purchase such a small quantity of wallpaper, since I won't be needing so much. What do you guys think? Are there/have you tried any other easier/cheaper solutions that I can use to make myself a headboard?

Question How Can I Get a Black Art Canvas?
I seen oil paintings done on black art canvases, and I want to try to do that too. The problem is, I don't know how to get them. Do you buy them, or do you have to paint the whole canvas a black color?

Best Answer The first two Answerers have it covered...or you can spray paint a primed canvas with matt black acrylic and save a lot of effort. Oil paint works fine on dry acrylic.

Question Where can I buy a blank art canvas?
Or is it possible for me to make one from plywood? What works best? I need something cheap because my budget for redecorating my room isn't all that much but I really wanted to paint my own abstract art and I have no idea where to get blank art canvases that aren't too pricey. Thanks in advance.

Best Answer The sources others have already listed are very good. If you are looking for a very large size format, you might consider stretching your own canvas, too. I'd try panel board before plywood, just because of the preparation needed. (You need to prepare your canvas, too... be sure to ask about sizing or other prep materials when you go the craft store. Tell them what you're painting on, if you using oil or acrylic, etc. and they'll know!) I've gotten some UNBEATABLE deals on E-bay by searching for 'canvas lots' and make sure to check the box that says to search the description. Oftentimes people who took an art class will decide to sell everything they bought for that class so you can pick up good deals on a mixed lot of things like brushes, paint, canvas, boards, etc. Another option is to check Thrift Stores. You can paint over another painting! Just clean it well and use the same media (oil-oil, acrylic-acrylic). So.... go out there and let your creativity flow! Have Fun!
