Canvas Prints

Question I want to do my own canvas prints and then frame them. What type of canvas should I use?
I have my own photography business and want to offer canvas prints if possible. I would print them on an inkjet printer and get someone else to frame them.

Question What should I charge for canvas photograph prints at a gallery show?
I am showing some of my photos at a gallery for the first time in a couple weeks and I'm wondering what I should charge for the prints if anyone there is interested in buying them. They are 16"X20" canvas prints that are ready to hang. I have never done this before so I'm just trying to get an idea. Thanks!

Best Answer $250 to $300 is probably the best you can do. Selling photos is not an easy job these days. When I sell my photos on canvas, I find sometimes that adding a brushstroke effect can make it unique and more likely to sell. Question How to hang canvas prints along the ceiling?
I have a loft in my house and have several canvas photos that I have done and was wondering if anyone had any experience with hanging prints along the ceiling? My ceiling is not square instead it goes up at angles from two sides (Cathedral Ceilings).

Best Answer You can try these things called Magnetacks. They use magnetic force to support your item so they don't damage it. They are perfect for posters and photos when you don't want to damage them so they'll probably work for your prints.

Question What equipment is needed for converting photo's to canvas prints?
I am looking to try and transferring my photo's to canvas prints but would like to know what equipment would be needed and how much it may cost. I know I can get someone to do it for me but would like to do it myself. Thanks

Best Answer Transferring your photos to canvas prints? Do you mean PRINT your photos on canvas? If you want to do it yourself, there is no magic or very special equipment needed. It is done with any of the larger format ink jet printers. The higher end Epsons or Canon Image Pro Graph models are capable. All you then need is the canvas stock. Many places sell this, usually in rolls, but also in precut sizes. Usually, the manufacturer of the printer sells canvas stock so you will already have the proper drivers built in to the printer. If you use a third party canvas, for best results, you will probably need to download the drivers for the canvas and your printer from the paper manufacturers website. Frankly, there are so many places doing this now that are properly set up for it, that I just can't see going to the expense and trouble of trying to do it yourself. steve
