Cheap Giclee Prints

Question I'm looking to buy art prints for my apartment. Should I go cheap for regular art prints or buy giclee prints?
I'm not entirely sure if I'm willing to pay the additional $10-15 for the giclee prints. I'm working on a budget, and I was mostly curious if the additional money per print was worth the price.

Question Giclee Printing I have found a very cheap excellant printer?
I sell my work on top sites so the quality is perfect . I thought I would just let you fellow artists know and help out my printer Prices are half normal printers I think ( A3 on top quality art paper 7 pounds) Email me for details Never mind ...!!!!! This printer uses an epson too and the chapo doing it could not be more qualified in photo shop printing etc . I just thougth i would tell every one . I won't bother next time !!!!!

Question Please advice me on giclee printing company and cost?
Please I have One of my paintings I want to make giclees but I have no idea about the process and the cost. I surely do want the cheapest but quality work done, so I will like as much advice as you are pleased to help me with. The truth is the giclees will be for commercial use but I want to print one first to understand the process and the quality before I print in large quantity. Please if it is possible give names of cheap and quality companies I could contact. Thanks in advance

Best Answer The first step is to find a company that will scan/photograph your painting properly. Color is very important and finding a company with good color matching expertise is not easy. If you are not strict about color and materials quality you can find some cheap companies but beware: you get what you pay for. This is true both in terms of inks and papers as well the the skills of the print maker. Chinese canvas and inks can cost half or even less than European, US or Japanese products; and it shows in quality, consistency and longevity ratings. There are good companies that specialize in Decor giclee printing using OEM inks and good papers. Ask questions; make sure the company specializes in this type of printing and is not one of those do-it-all-print-everything outfits. Giclee printing is very different from other specialties and technical as well artistic skills are required. You have not mentioned if you are looking for decor or fine art giclee printing. With fine art (which is the highest quality) you are catering to collectors and other discriminating buyers who demand the highest color fidelity and longevity. Decor aims more at mass production for i.e. hotels, offices etc.
