Giclée Printing

Question Does anyone have a good resource about Giclee printing?
I have started hearing about giclee printing but really know little about it can anyone help?

Best Answer Hermit is right,but it is a bit more archival than your typical inkjet for home use. If you have an inkjet printer that can handle thicker materials and you can refill your ink carts, do some online searching for 'archival inks' and try some 'watercolor paper' from an art supply store. But beware, the watercolor stock is expensive, sold in blocks and you need to carefully guide it into your printer. Look for "Aquarelle Arches" paper, and for a 12x16 block of 20 sheets you can expect to pay about $80. I've had some hanging on the wall for about 10 years or so with no noticeable fading or color shift. (not the case with other papers or inks so far) I've been using an old HP 1120C printer with various archival inks and the results have been very good to great (depending on the condition of the cartridge) ps, I've been scanning and printing copies of paintings for artists who need copies to sell or send 'proofs' to galleries. If the prints can satisfy the artist, they should satisfy anyone.

Question How do I prepare ordinary canvas for giclee printing?
What primers (chemicals) are necessaty to apply to standard or ordinary canvas with a view to giclee printing in a wide format printer using ultra-chrome ink?. What is the application proceedure? Alternatively, who can supply such a primer?

Best Answer From all the research I've done, there is not one "primer" that you can apply to regular canvas to prepare it for printing. Each canvas manufacturer uses what seems to be a closely-guarded formula, and each formula reacts differently with the various printers as well as the various inks. Question Is there anyone offering giclee printing in the Philippines?
Want to make giclee prints from my art/illustration... or archival ink prints, at least. Anyone know where to find such services in Metro Manila? And how much usually for a 5x7 or 8x10 print?

Question Giclee Printing I have found a very cheap excellant printer?
I sell my work on top sites so the quality is perfect . I thought I would just let you fellow artists know and help out my printer Prices are half normal printers I think ( A3 on top quality art paper 7 pounds) Email me for details Never mind ...!!!!! This printer uses an epson too and the chapo doing it could not be more qualified in photo shop printing etc . I just thougth i would tell every one . I won't bother next time !!!!!
